|This game uses the same futuristic redesign as the last PSX game... in fact it seems to be the exact same story as the PSX one, but the gameplay mechanics are extremely simplified and the stages and bosses are entirely different.|
It's kinda similar to the last GBC Goemon game, with very simplified NES-style platforming, and that you can only play as Goemon and Ebisu in the normal stages. There's a couple of underwater maze stages where you play as Yui, and in this game you DO actually have full control of your swimming and can kill enemies. And there's a flying/shooting stage where you play as Sasuke.. There's also a couple of really weird stages that rotate around constantly like the Sonic 1 special stages..
The Impact battles are very simplified like the were on GBC... The non-impact bosses are actually fairly hard if you don't stock up on items, but I had no trouble beating them after going back to get fully armored up.
This is a worse game than the PSX one in pretty much all aspects, but it's still not terrible or anything. It's just a fun little romp that you can beat in like 2 hours.
Oh, and yeah this game also seems to have some optional sidequest stuff in towns that I'm not sure how to complete.. but who cares it's probably not even fun.
