|I wasn't expecting this be either the best Layton game or the best AA game, and I quite enjoyed it for what it was. I appreciated all the little subtle ways they incorporated the tone/style of AA into the Layton parts (and vice-versa)... I especially liked that part where Layton passed the puzzle-solving job onto Phoenix because of how it played more to his strengths.|
The story was good for the most part. I thought the magic tome was a clever way of incorporating Layton-style puzzle elements into the courtroom segments. I didn't mind the ending so much because it suited the flavor of both Layton and the AA series pretty well.
