|Case 5 part 4 summary:|
It was proven that the current president who was crushed to death, isn't the real president, he was a body double. The real president was murdered in the incident 12 years ago. The body double worked with Blaise and Patricia to murder the real president so he could take his place. Dogen was the assassin they hired to murder him...
Then suddenly, Dogen himself shows up and explains more of the plot to everyone. He is looking for the true mastermind of the current case, the boy in the red coat... who was also the kid who started the fire 12 years ago... Dogen owes this kid his life. He informed Dogen that Blaise/Patricia were planning to kill him to keep him from leaking the truth.
Dogen also told about how he saved the boy in the red coat and one other kid 18 years ago, on exactly the same day as the IS-7 incident where the culprit and victim's kids both went missing... the 2 kids nearly froze to death because Dover kept them tied up to prevent Gustavia from winning the contest... Edgeworth deduced that the boy in the red coat was Knightly, Dogen's chess partner. The ring that Knightly had with him also had Dover's emblem on it.
But actually, Knightly is not the mastermind. The chess correspondence letter to Knightley was typed on a word processor, not written in Braille... that means a middleman must've been rewriting the chess messages between Dogen and Knightley... that middleman must be the boy in the red coat.
Wait a sec... Simon Keyes... the person who was accused in case 2. He was Knightley's long time friend from the orphanage... he's the mastermind?
omg, the "giant monster" witnessed by the 2 reporters... was a hot air balloon from the Big Berry Circus. Simon really is the mastermind! Simon was using that balloon to bring the unconscious Kay to the rooftop of the Grand Tower. This whole game is elaborate as fuck...
It turns out that Simon killed the president's double himself, on the roof of the tower, by crushing him with the hot air balloon, then freezing him to throw off the time of death (just like his father, Gustavia did 18 years ago)... Simon kept trying to say that he was only using the truth to drive his enemies into killing and getting each other in trouble, as part of his plot for revenge... but since he was proven to commit this murder and kidnapping by his own hands, Edgeworth manages to arrest him.
That was pretty good, a huge improvement over the first AAI game...
