|S2 Episode 8 - My Childhood Friends Fight Too Much|
The Neighbors' Club decides on filming a movie for the school festival, which is also what Kobato is doing in her middle school class. Kobato doesn't like the role that she got and tries to join this one instead, but Kotaka convinces her to do her best at her own school's festival.
Yozora is the most enthusiastic one about this movie idea, and she decides to write the screenplay. She secretly asks Kotaka to go see a movie with her in order to help come up with ideas... They go out together and Yozora says this feels just like when they used to hang out as kids.
The next day, Yozora presents her screenplay to everyone, and it's basically the same plot as this show with everyone playing their own role... wow that's so unoriginal, yet everyone seems to think that Yozora's screenplay writing is great. Even Sena is fine with being cast as the villain who is trying to break up the 2 childhood friends' romance.
I like this new gimmick that Rika is doing this season, where she keeps changing her clothing and hairstyle. I didn't even notice that she was dressed as Kobato this time, I thought that was just Kobato herself for a while, especially since Yozora casted her as the jealous little sister character.
Rika then objects to the part where Kotaka is cast as a cool, popular character. It seems Yozora is the only one who sees him that way. Everyone agrees that they should vote to decide the casting. Now Yukimura gets to play the lead role (which was originally Yozora's role), Yozora is playing the lead's childhood friend, Maria is playing the rival, Sena is playing a side-character who also likes the childhood friend (which I guess was supposed to be Rika), Rika is playing the role of the Yukimura-like character, and Kotaka is playing the little sister character. That's way more interesting than what Yozora wanted to do. Kotaka is mad at Sena and Maria for voting him to play the little sister role.
Then Yozora starts changing the script around so that she can be closer to Kotaka, and Sena starts fighting with her. I didn't expect this episode to get so deep in the drama... Sena actually makes Yozora cry by calling her out on her not being able to let go of the past and wanting to keep Kotaka to herself. After Kotaka goes and talks to Yozora in the hallway, and makes her question putting so much importance on the past compared to the present, she changes the script around again and now everyone is happy with it.
