I just noticed my file has some cool stamps on it now... I'm sad that this game is almost completely over for real now...
Chapter 8 C-side
This first room teaches you a long-jump move. I already knew about it, but this is the first time where a level actually makes use of this ability.
The 2nd room of this level already feels like it's long enough to be a C-side final room... But it only uses some of the chapter 8 gimmicks, and is mostly about lining up your momentum bounces really well.
The final room... it's the perfect culmination of everything that this game has lead up to. It takes the chapter 8 gimmick of lava rising or falling depending on whether the world is red or blue, and makes you go through a huge guantlet of platforming that uses themes from all 7 of the other chapters, and then it ends with a repeat of what you did in the first room of this level. It didn't take long for me to get up to the long jump section, but that last part gave me so much trouble... The only reason this level took so long is because getting back to that last part just to have another attempt at it takes a while, and I can get in the zone and get through the entire chapter redux gauntlet consistently, but then when I make a mistake somewhere that makes me impatient and causes more mistakes... all because of this one really tricky double long jump section at the end that I can never manage to make when I get there. The first room in this level required 3 long jumps but seemed a lot easier because of how you could try it again right away... this is more of an issue of perseverance.
Finally, I made it through and beat the level with only around 300 deaths... The game is truly over now... I guess? The Full Clear times I still don't understand, but if it's really just "beat the level with all collectibles", I don't really care about that, nor do I care about the golden strawberries. I'll end this game on a good note instead of ruining it by speedrunning/no-death grinding until I'm sick of it.
