|I realized I haven't checked out all the menu options that became available after I started the game. There's "Enemy Info" where you can view info cards for each enemy character, and these are what are actually unlocked by collecting those question mark cards at the end of each stage. And yeah, it works like the collectibles in the 3DS Kirby games, where it's random which ones you get, and collecting all of them is a big grind... Boss cards are unlocked automatically after defeating each boss. |
World 5 - Shiver Star
5-1 is a snowy level. I haven't had the chance to try out many bomb combos yet.
Bomb+Spike lets you turn into a gordo, you can move around in the air for a bit before exploding and doing a scatter shot. That one's kinda cool
Bomb+Freeze lets you turn into a snowman, and walk around for a bit before exploding either due to time or by running into something. It's like you become a bob-omb. except it doesn't protect you from enemy attacks... kind of a lame ability.
Double-freeze lets you turn into a snowball and roll through everything forever. Useful for areas that don't require any platforming, but would be kind of challenging to use this in other situations.
After a very easy snowy terrain room, then a snowman miniboss in a room where I see a crystal shard that I probably need double fireball to access... then there's a big easy section where you can swim under the ice to collect some stuff.
5-2, a green bubble shoots you up into a cloud platforming area. There's a crystal shard in a pit that I don't think I can survive with Kirby's normal flight powers... might need to come back with the fireworks power or something. Oh wait no, you still keep it after dying. The shuriken power made this level fairly easy. I missed one crystal shard here.
5-3 is in a mall. This first room is really cool aesthetically, going up a bunch of conveyor ramps in the middle of a 3d looking mall area... Then it's a bunch of really cool 2.5d indoor areas with a toy store aesthetic. I'm not sure what to do at that Adeline puzzle. She's painting pictures of things that are supposed to represent the colors that you press in the next room I guess.
5-4 is a really cool looking military base atmosphere with smashing ceiling obstacles. Again another weird miniboss room where I have no idea which power I need to get the shard.
This flying robot boss is actually kinda tough. Not sure how to dodge his missiles in the 2nd phase. Oh, duh, by flying... okay that's not actually hard nevermind.
