|Episode 5: Sakura Feels a Pull at the Flower Viewing|
Rika, who goes to a different school than Sakura now, calls Sakura to tell her that she can't go to the flower viewing party.
Sakura's brother is still like 2 feet taller than her lol... CLAMP has always been so weird about character height.
Sakura is worried about Yukito and Yue, and asks Touya if Yukito still eats a lot like he used to...
Oh, there's the "pull" that the episode title refers to...
Yamazaki made lunch for him and Chiharu... it's weird seeing him talking sincerely about how he likes to cook, and not going off on some crazy story.
Akiho says she's living with someone who's not related to her, but is very important to her... I wonder if she's like one of the dream mage's familiars...
Sakura starts trying to make up some excuse while the mysterious force pulls her away... Tomoyo's like
oh shit *grabs camera*
Siege has become Sakura's go-to move this season...
Some demonic looking tree is pulling her toward it... Sakura finds the source of the pull and captures it.
The Gravitation card's design looks neat... very simple elegant imagery with the sun and moon.
Back to the really cheery, pleasant flower viewing picnic... the music gets even more chill when Syaoran shows up.
You know, "sweets" got their name because a certain guest at an upper-class tea party said something very sweet...
Too cute... whenever Sakura and Syaoran are together their dialog is always absolutely adorable. lol and of course Tomoyo films it. It's like she thinks of missing out on filming Sakura as like missing out on watching/making a CCS episode.
Rolled omelets make you think of Castella, right?
Castella was origially made using "cast-off" crumbs. Just like how "awful" got its name from the "off-fall" during butchering.
As for where the "-tella" part came from... Priests at a temple would "tell-a friend", or another priest, when they had leftover sweets, so they'd make Castella together.
And it was delicious! It made the temple so rich, they built additional buildings and even had branches. It was crazy!
These are getting really elaborate...
Ending the episode with a super relaxing Tomoyo song... that was great.
