|Celestial Archives part 2|
At this point in the game, I guess it wants you to just go back through each of the 4 areas and get new equipment and stuff... As you select each area, the UI tells you which rival hunters are roaming that area. Celestial Archives was the only place where there were no rivals currently.
I found a UA expansion under the ship that I couldn't get before, and then I basically just re-explored through the whole linear, samey looking circular hallways until I came to some green doors that I couldn't open before... there I battled some android enemies that were carrying the Volt Driver weapon, which is like a yellow electric charge beam... and found that Volt Driver weapon hidden in a morph ball tunnel.
With that, I was able to go through a new area near where the boss portal was.
More cryptic nonsense...
The orange blaze shall die away to be reborn on wings of blue smoke.
Then it leads to a a big open room with a bunch of semi-tough enemies, and a bunch of switches that need to be pressed to unlock a portal. and that leads to an oudoor docking bay area, with a similar aesthetic to the outside of the Frigate. Here there's a shield key and an artifact...
Within each Octolith is a spirit. The transferred essence of an Alimbic Elder.
Do not underestimate the danger concealed herein, we have sacrificed our world to confine the monstrosity known as Gorea. Do not seek this think unless you have the means to destroy it.Also there's a helpful scan telling you that there's exactly 2 Octoliths on each world.
Then there's a bunch of other portals leading to rooms with a bunch of actually pretty tough enemies. Dying makes you restart from the docking Bay area... that'd suck if you had to restart all the way back at the gunship.
I eventually found another artifact after going through a maze of portals and killing all the enemies, but now I don't know where the last one is... I had to wander around for a while before finding the Shock Coil, another electric weapon (but more like the force lightning kind) that can go through blue doors... and that makes it obvious where to go next since there are blue force fields in this area.
Next is a very tricky platforming segment, with a few flying enemies along the way. It's very forgiving though, any time you fall off an die it restarts you at the beginning of this room.
Finally, here's the 2nd portal leading back to the Gunship... After that is just a bit more slow and careful platforming, and then the 3rd shield key and artifact are in plain sight along with a bunch of lore scans warning about the powerful creature called Gorea... and then the boss portal is a bit after that.
ugh no... it's that eyeball boss AGAIN. The only thing different about him this time is that the turrets now shoot Volt Driver shots, and it has a ram attack. This time, I realized it has another scan in its 2nd form (when the weakness is vulnerable), and that made me realize which weapon I needed to use to make the fight not take half an hour.
An 8 minute escape sequence... I'm not sure how these are justified actually. The place is obviously not exploding... maybe it just means that's how much time you have before your gunship will be destroyed or stolen by someone...
I'm assuming I'm totally done with Celestial Archives now. I explored very thoroughly, and found a number of missile expansions, UA expansions, another energy tank.
Now my logbook is at 88% equipment, 34% lore, 46% bioform, and 71% object scans... 50% logbook scans completed overall. I already know that I won't be able to get to 100% bioform scans since I missed the 2nd phase of some of the earlier bosses, but I'll see how close I can get.
