World 3 has some of the best visuals so far in the game. There's some boos chained up and being used as street decorations, and they disappear whenever you look at them... The exploration puzzles here involve picking up a statue and putting it on a switch to open up paths.
These new enemies are super annoying. They teleport around the stage randomly at long distances, and they can draw you in closer to them on their turn before attacking... This is so broken tier. The sight attacks that Mario/Luigi/Peach have don't even work on them because they never move around on foot, only teleport. No matter how good your cover is, they'll usually just move somewhere and hit you every single turn, and they do a ton of damage too... and then they introduce boos, which capture you and teleport you to some random square if you are near them on their turn. The boos can capture enemies as well, but with the teleporting mage guys it hardly even hinders them at all. I tried switching to Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi just for their superior strength and defense...
By now there's a running joke about how Toad and Toadette always run around and one of the two gets kidnapped in every world. These Toad escort missions are pretty fun, because the goal is to get Toad to the end instead of on mainly killing the enemies, so it allows for some very different tactics that you normally wouldn't do.
There's some really neat puzzles and set piece designs in this world, but I'm mainly just looking forward to the battles, as they've now gotten really difficult. Almost every battle now takes me a couple tries. This is like the perfect difficulty level right now. If it were any harder, I'd think about going back through an earlier world and doing some challenges instead.
