Level 5: Iceberg
This feels like the kind of level that is fun to casually walk through with the parasol and easily avoid getting hit by the enemies like it's nothing... yep definitely... especially with this upward platforming column room. oh man this level is amazing... both in level design and background/foreground aesthetic... that snow mountain climbing part was incredible.
Now we're sliding down the snowy mountain... if you have Fire Rick you can just chill and stand around breathing fire for this entire section. Oh damn... should've picked up ice when I had the chance... can't kill Metroids without that ability in some form. Sorry Samus maybe next time.
I didn't even notice it transition to an autoscroller there at that underwater part until it was too late. Coo really sucks underwater. This level has a sound memorization gordo minigame. I only lost because I didn't understand what to do the first time.
Again, parasol made this stage into a relaxing walk... but seems like you need to get through it with fire to access the secret. what the hell... the item puzzle here is kinda... I don't even know how I'd do it...
Oh gosh, I never tried parasol with Chuchu before... this power is extremely comfy during sections without much platforming or upward verticality. I think Chuchu is my favorite animal friend in this game. just so many really cute, and fun abilities plus a minorly gimped Kirby flight (it requires some timing to get the most height, and it gets weaker each jump) That last part as magical girl Chuchu was fun... but looks like I needed to get through this level as Nago for the heart.
A miniboss guantlet... the heart requires you to take every miniboss's power. or you can just keep lightning Coo and break every miniboss... Every single stage of level 5 has had really beautiful aesthetics...
Coo+lightning makes both phases of the Dedede battle insanely easy...
I love how the bad ending makes a big mystery of the whole Dark matter thing, just showing a black circle with a question mark as the last character in the enemy roll call thing.
