High replay log/screenshots part 1
Starting a high playthrough on normal mode, on the Switch version. My first time playing this was while high, but then I went and quickly beat the game during mostly non-high sessions. This time I intend to play through it again fully, only entirely while high on edibles, to get the maximum amount of immersion in every section of the game.
It's been 7 months since I finished my first playthrough on the Wii U. Now I have the switch version, and I'm going totally all-in with screenshots during this high playthrough, since the Switch makes it so quick and easy compared to taking screenshots on the Wii U.
and then you see that old man... the game very much feels like you're only supposed to talk to people as much as you think you need to. I don't even think it's necessary to talk to him at all... I wonder if that'd change how he greets you near the tower though.
When the old man asks if anything odd happened on that tower, I'm like... I've been hearing that voice since I woke up, so that's not something I would consider "odd", so instead I answer "..."
- one leading to the shrine of resurrection, and above that is high up cliff on the other side of the River of the Dead, north of Mount Hylia...
- one leading to the tower and Magnesis shrine (where I found 1 of the 3 EX chests), and beyond that, the optional forest/pond area at the northern most side of the plateau, where there's some more enemies/loot and probably some koroks to find... you can get up to the north mountain from the northwest, and try to approach Mount Hylia by crossing River of the Dead, but that way is much more dangerous than the normal way.
- one leading to the unnamed field where the old man's house is, and the main approach to Mount Hylia and the Cryonis and Stasis shrines... this is where I found the 2nd EX chest along the edge of the plateau.
- one leading to the Eastern Abbey, which is filled with dead guardians making it hard to sneak around them to get to the Bomb shrine. This is also where I ofund the 3rd EX chest, the one with a Switch shirt, but it's in a dangerous spot where you're in the line of fire of 2 guardians.
I'm now at 9 koroks and 5 shrines... 2 towers and 1 stable... perfect place to stop I guess. Next time I'll probably circle the road around the plateau, and do whatever close by distractions I see, before looping around back to where the road branches off towards dueling peaks. Then I'll head to Kakariko.
I thought I'd just be bee-lining for the Kakariko+Hateno+Kakariko stuff in order to get the camera and start the memories quest as soon as possible... but honestly I care more about just letting the journey guide itself than working towards 100% completion
I went totally all-in with screenshots during this high playthrough, since the Switch makes it so quick and easy compared to taking screenshots on the Wii U.
