|Now I'm using a guide even more thoroughly than before... I'm determined to 100% complete this... but man, some of these things are REALLY hard to find, even with guide use.|
Finally, got the stupid carrot item at the top left of Icy Summit. There was actually a go-through wall there that you can easily jump to. I don't know why I didn't try that before.
Got the Hourglass item in the Golden Pyramid, which makes carrot bombs explode for a longer duration. This wasn't hard to find at all, it just turned out that I never went back to fully explore that area.
I still can't figure out how to get to that darker colored section below (and above) the Floating Graveyard...
Oh wow... getting to the red section of System Interior... this requires getting the "You broke the game" achievement by doing the wall jump at the highest peak of a double jump, then turning around and doing an air dash toward the wall, then another wall jump, and then just barely making it up by using a bunny amulet for a but of extra air time... that was insanely hard.
System Interior part 2 was really fun... no enemies, just a huge series of laser-dodging rooms... and then a VVVVVV style boss where you dodge projectiles while bouncing up and down constantly.
... this story is really confusing. I don't get it at all.
oh, apparently that was the trigger to end the current chapter... For some reason I thought I was already in the post-game, but no, NOW I'm actually starting the Final Chapter. That explains why there were some areas I still couldn't get to yet.
I dunno what's going on, but now I don't have Ribbon with me, and I'm supposed to go meet Irisu in a part of the bunny laboratory I haven't been to yet. She explains to Erina that the bunny hunting people appeared because of her wanting a bunny of her own. Then Erina goes and sits on Irisu's bed, and she gets angry for some reason... and now I don't know what's going on again... Erina started chasing after Irisu, and then Ribbon rejoined her. Then Kotri tells us that Irisu is at the Floating Library.
Finally, I defeated Miriam at the Hall of Memories... that wasn't too hard after using up all my healing items (although, I learned that you can only use healing items when you have some downtime where you can stand around without getting hit).
And then, a new section of the Forgotten Cave opens up.. I went in there not knowing it was a temporary point of no return... and the only way to get out of it is to beat a boss rush. This was actually pretty easy. All of the boss refights were underleveled, and I could kill them pretty quickly, and they heal you a good amount after each boss.
This area is very different from the cave aesthetic... it's like this weird trippy abstract place with a cityscape in the background.
At the end, I got the Blessed Charm badge, and then a teleporter... and after that is the flashiest, craziest boss battle yet in the game... it's against Rumi... she has a bunch of rainbow colored attacks that seriously look really pretty... it's kinda hard, mostly because it goes on for a loooong time. Got SSS ranking on this boss.
wtf... I went from Chapter 8 to Chapter 7
...or, I guess right now I'm both on Chapter 7: Connecting the Two, and on Final Chapter: Irisu in Wonderland
Now there's a long exposition cutscene that I still can't follow very well... apparently they all know that they have to protect this island from the outside world, but they forget why.
Next destination for chapter 7 is enter the computer system in Exotic Laboratory... Next destination for chapter 8 is look for Irisu in Floating Library.
I'm still missing 1 town character, 4 badges, 3 easter eggs... and apparently still missing 6 items (although I don't know how accurate these map totals are, like I counted all the items in Eastern Highlands and I clearly got all 31, but the map total for that area only says 30/31 for some reason)
97.04% overall map completion... I'm extremely close to completing this 100% playthrough.
Total play time so far: 15:06:41.38
