|- Chapter 2: The Windy Hills -|
Suddenly, some weird girl with blue hair, named "Sense Data", shows up and gives Alto a destiny clock. It's.. a thing that tells you whether the current time is "Free time" or "Mission time"
Under "Free time" it shows x3, meaning that you can let time pass 3 times before Free time runs out and it turns to Mission time.
So I guess going to a shop or Alto's room doesn't use up time, but going to the Knight Barracks to strengthen the bond with your teammates also uses up a free time unit. By talking to your teammates and strengthening their bond, they'll learn new abilities. I see...
Then it shows another option that passes time, Explore... this seems to be just a quick little scene where Alto wanders around somewhere, and may or may not find something good... I dunno, this option doesn't seem that useful. I think I'd rather just strengthen bond as much as possible.
Mission time... I think it shows a glimpse of how many "Mission time" and "Free time" sections there are within this chapter, that's cool... also you can still go to shops and save during mission time...
Another new world map feature... there will sometimes be blue spaces with optional missions you can do any time during mission time... I guess there's no reason not to do all of them that you come across before going to the next red or yellow space.
man.. I'm starting to really like this battle system. the various support effects that each of the characters have make it really interesting. some enemy was about to attack Lisette, but since the heavy knight Archibald was near her, he blocked the attack for her.
This port town has an auction going on, and Rusty gets in a fight with some kid and ends up buying some overpriced crap... Klaus asks around about a witch, and the mayor tells us about how this "evil witch" was causing trouble for the town's economy, so the mayor had her exiled... later, that kid Ewan shows up again, and Klaus recognizes him as a well known merchant.. he gives us some info on where to look next. Got attacked by some witch familiars...
Another free time area is introduced, the tavern, where you can do various sidequests in exchange for items and gold. I imagine this will probably be more worthwhile than the Explore option as well... I dunno which thing I'm gonna focus on. These sidequests seem interesting because they let you get to know the side characters... but so far neither the sidequests (they're really just shopkeeper talking scenes) or the barracks talking scenes are interesting as of now. the all of the available sidequests only reward 1000 gold.. I guess the rewards will get better as you do more of them. yeah I'd rather just focus entirely on main character bond building...
Alto gets chosen to stay behind and keep watch near the outskirts of Windy Hills, while the rest of the team goes off in search of the wind witch... Alto then happens to meet this little girl named Popo, and sees her save a young boy from a monster... Popo gets nervous when Alto asks her if she's seen a witch around...
Then they get attacked by monsters at Popo's home, and she summons her familiars and uses her magic to help Alto out in battle. Both her and her fairy familiars use long range arrow attacks, she's incredibly useful in battle... Later, a bunch more monsters show up and the rest of the knights show up to help against this tougher enemy pack and it makes defeating them easy... Popo is scared of the knights at first... Lisette and Alto are the only ones she isn't scared of.. and she refuses to come with us back to the capital, because she thinks she has to stay here to protect the port town. She says that the mayor kicked her out because of people not liking witches, and that she has to make it up by protecting the town.. Alto is pissed at the mayor for tricking Popo and taking advantage of her.
The next day, Alto goes back to Popo's house to talk to her.. he finds her singing.. she says she needs to sing every day to make wind come to the valley for the town's windmill.. she's determined to keep working to protect the town no matter what, even though everyone in the town hates her... The other knights were asking around to find out why the wind witch is so feared, but even mentioning her name made people go silent and run off... because of the mayor's lies, they fear the wind witch even more than Hilda, the harbinger of destruction.
