|After the credits, I unlocked the ability to use a mega gun on any stage I've already cleared. I used this in the last stage in order to beat the boss quickly and get the par (got like 3:40)... but that was the only stage where I made use of this ability.|
also unlocked 5 bonus stages, meaning the game isn't over yet... The first 3 were pretty great. Slightly harder than the previous end-game stages, but still not unreasonable at all to get the par in if you memorize the level and play good. The 4th bonus stage, however, was an insanely confusing launcher maze where you had to kill 5 monsters in order to unlock the paths to each of the 5 fugitives, and then even after after that you still have to find your way to the exit at the top of the stage.. I actually got a time of like 13m when I beat it because of how I kept running in circles trying to find the exit. Even when I found it I wasn't sure if this was the right path because it involved a very tricky jump to just barely get inside a launcher that I couldn't find any other way of getting to... The par for this stage is 2:30 which is INSANE... but again I guess it's just a matter of learning your way around.
The last bonus stage was another one where your helmet is malfunctioning, and it's significantly harder than Incident 16. I got game over quite a few times on this, and by the time I beat it I was good enough that I only missed the par by 45 seconds.
