|Episode 9 - The Blooming Maiden Digs a Hole - This world requires choice and resolution.|
Magane finds the injured Mamika who was dripping blood down from the sky, as she was searching for Alice to warn her about Altair's true intentions... Magane listens to Mamika's request and goes
This looks like something worth lying about.Just then, Alicetaria shows up, and thinks Magane is the one who did this to her... and Mamika dies before she can tell Alice anything, instead she only says "please, save that person" in her dying breath.
This was easy to see coming... Magane tells Alice basically the opposite of what Mamika wanted her to say. "Meteora... Stop the world's destruction... Save her... Altair..."
She said it in a way that she's technically not lying, she just mixed up the order of what Mamika said.
Magane goes out on her date with Sota... I think I see the reason why she likes him so much.
Don't worry, I won't tell anyone... about the person you killed.
No! I haven't killed anyone.
Really? I wonder. When people are hiding something, they talk about the details and avoid talking about the most critical part. Every single time. But that's the same as showing everyone exactly which piece of the puzzle it is you're trying to hide. A liar like me can see that.
I'm not sure if this is actually true, but she's doing a really good job of convincing him that it is. Then she starts blackmailing him into telling Selesia that Meteora is a traitor and is secretly working for Altair, and shows him Mamika's bloodstained cloth, and says Alicetaria will backup her story.
Sota starts doubting Magane, calling her a lair and saying she's probably the one who killed Mamika. Magane admits that everything she's saying is a lie, but asks him "Am I lying now?"
This is some brilliant psychological manipulation, holy shit...
Surprisingly, Magane's deceptive mixture of lies and truths help Sota put the pieces together to realize that Altair is the one who killed Mamika... Then she says this is technically another addition to Sota's death count, since his conversation with Mamika was the trigger that lead to her death.
Yuya shows up and tells Magane to stop trying to make Sota kill himself, and starts chasing after her. Then Meteora shows up, and Sota starts crying and confessing about how he blames himself for both Shimazaki's death and Mamika's death, and that he should've told her about Shimazaki earlier. Meteora gives him some very useful emotional support, saying that he should remember his mistakes and try to make up for it.
Meteora goes to help Yuya with his fight against Magane, who is nullifying all his attacks through her deceitful words and calling him out on his bluffs...
Her power is to reverse cause and effect by making the person under her spell deny what she asks.
Provoking people and taking advantage of their vulnerabilities. It's the same old trick.
Magane keeps blabbering on until Alicetaria shows up to fight Meteora, taking the focus away from her.
