Full playthrough screenshot log: World 3
From the room that you wake up in, there's 8 different passageways to go, and it looks like some of them probably exit out into the upper sections of this room.
I guess first I'll go into this one door that has a tree next to it, and it's the only door with an unlit candle above it... I quickly found out this area has some kind of Lost Woods trick to it, where you're just sent back around to the starting room if you take the wrong path... but I accidentally wandered into a new area before fully exploring everything there.
This endless hallway with little fountains on the walls has some great music.
Oh wait, it's not an endless hallway... it leads into another room with a weird statue in it, and the only way to go from there is through a large underwater passage. I'm not sure if there was more to explore in that underwater section, but it's hard to explore when you have limited air and the visibility goes down as your air starts to run out.
Okay so I ended up in this dark, dreary room with a leaky ceiling, and the way forward is blocked by shadow people that I can't get rid of... I'm guessing I need to turn the lights on to scare them away or something.
Another wall mural in this weird glowy cave... this is has a really cool effect where it glows as you go near it, and pressing the sing button amplifies this.
Woah, suddenly there's enemies now... the shadow people aren't running away from me anymore, and instead they're like sucking the light out of me when I go near them.
Then another underwater passage, and it leads to this huge underwater room that reminds me of the OoT Water Temple. I found the 3rd melody shell inside the middle structure, and I don't know if I'm missing other stuff here because there's not enough visibility down here. The fox is up at the top making it obvious that's where you go next to progress.
Then there's a few classic puzzle rooms that the fox is beckoning me through, but then when I get to a dark room, the fox stops running ahead and waits for the kid to lead the way. Actually he's not even following me now.
At the end of that dark path, I found a bunch of dead robot things, and a light ball makes them come back to life so they can move out of the way and help me out. One of them walks back to the room where the fox stopped leading the way, and it opens up a new path there. The kid wanted him to make a shadow with him to solve the puzzle in this room, but I guess this injured robot wants other things, and shows the kid a slideshow showing he apparently knows these robot people.
Then it starts getting kinda challenging to avoid getting the life sucked out of you by the shadow people as you navigate through the next few rooms. There was this one emblem piece that required you to nearly get killed by the shadow people, like I think there's literally no other option than to very carefully navigate around them and then rush through them to get to where the piece is.
After that, I'm back in the safe light zone, with a robotic sphere friend that I'm carrying around... The puzzles here get kinda weird, with magic elevator doors and moving the light spheres and boxes to open doors and stuff...
This is such a strange level, but I guess it's to be expected. So far every world in this game has had very strange unique things about it. I love the gold+white+overgrown aesthetics of this place. Then eventually you get to the point where you give the robotic sphere friend legs, and he starts following you around and helping you navigate through the difficult puzzles.
Also I feel like I'm missing a lot of extra side areas and stuff that I have no idea how to access. I did manage to find another emblem piece during the part where the robot is walking around with me, but I really feel like I'm missing a lot still... Oh, actually one of the side paths that I thought I missed out on, I ended up coming back to that room with the robot friend and he helps me open up that path. Also I almost missed the side path that leads to where you find the white glowy person of this chapter.
In fact, this whole area is being retreaded now with the robot opening up shortcuts... Maybe I didn't miss anything after all. Eventually, I get to the bottom of a room that was passed by earlier but I couldn't get to the bottom of until now, and the fox is back, and telling both the robot and the kid to go back through the scary dark cave that has all those shadow people. Only this time, using the light orbs with the robot makes it trivial to get through all these enemies.
Eventually it takes you back to that first room where the kid needed one of those 2-legged robots to make a shadow with him to open the door... but first this robot friend wants to go downstairs and get me to revive all the broken robots. This last puzzle of world 3 is kinda tricky, I ended up using a light orb to lure the robot guy onto the thing that activates the staircase, and then throwing the orb onto the other thing that needs to be lit up and went up the staircase before it disappeared... then I found a path to a box that I could bring down and that made the rest of this puzzle very easy.
I'm kinda worried about my collectables now. I haven't found like any new keyholes, toys, or costumes in a while. I think I'll probably just need to go through every chapter again with a guide to see what I missed later. Also I just realized this world doesn't have any great vistas overlooking everything you've gone through, like the previous 2 worlds did. I guess that's because this whole chapter takes place inside the tower.
The robot guys follow me out through the next glowy keyhole, and after another cutscene where the kid tries and fails to save the red robed guy on the boat, the robots help the kid across the ocean and into this very rainy temple area.
