Currently, this site does not have a very big catalog, so if you want to add titles that aren't on here yet, you need to use the Contribute page to enter the title data in manually.
I realized this system of adding titles as needed is not very convenient, so I am now developing a mass import program to get a lot more books, shows, movies, and games onto here and make the catalog more complete.
I am also looking into changing the name of this site. AnimeVGLog doesn't really describe what this site is about very well. Right now I am settled on "MyMediaLog", but if you can think of any better suggestions I'd love to hear it.
Lastly, once the catalog becomes a lot bigger, normal users will be restricted to only suggesting new catalog items or catalog edits, and their changes will go through a moderation process before having an effect on the catalog (Currently, normal users can make changes that have immediate effects on the catalog, but those changes will still go through a moderation process). Also I will look into lowering the token cost for all of the various features that you can spend tokens on, because there won't be as much of a need for normal users to earn tokens by contributing to the catalog.

Here are some other features that are planned for the near future:
I don't know exactly when the timeframe will be for that last one.

I've decided to scale back this site a little bit, and the plans I had to add features to this site are on hold for now. You now have to be logged in to use the advanced search features and browse the catalog. Guests can only browse the log posts index which lists the recent public log posts and reviews that users have made.
The site name has been changed back to AnimeVGLog, because I like that name better than MyMediaLog due to being a simpler name that is more unique and rolls off the tongue better.
I currently have no interest in promoting this site and building up the community at the moment, as that would require too much work from me to maintain the site. Instead, this AnimeVGLog is now a low-key blog site with an organized catalog that anybody can sign up and use. Maybe if enough people ask, I will reconsider resuming development.

I'm going to be changing how the item catalog indexing works. Currently, there's a lot of resources being used to index thousands of catalog items that nobody is utilizing, and all it's doing is making the search queries a lot slower. I'm going to preen the database and get rid of all the unused titles/tags and that should make the site much faster again.
I'm also going stop the spider script that adds new movies/games/shows/books to the catalog automatically, and instead, items can be added on a case by case basis. If there's an item that's not on our catalog that you want to add, simply go to the Requests page and you can request it to be added. The title you request will be added immediately, and can be used to post log posts, board posts, added to your backlog, etc... and eventually I'll get around to adding other details like the proper tags and cover art.
Other than that, I am satisfied with this site's functionality at this point, and have no plans to add any more features. I'll still take suggestions though. You can suggest features by posting on the AnimeVGLog Board, sending me a PM, or using the Contact page.
