|Episode 4: Turnabout Succession - Investigation part 1 recap|
Well... this looks promising enough. I gotta say I would never have expected the Ace Attorney series to start having a jury system, that's a pretty sweet twist. I'm guessing there won't be any difference in the actual gameplay, just that you'll see the jury members all commenting and giving their opinions but not really bringing up any arguments, same as the judge.
As for the story... well I've barely even started but here's what I think so far. Vera and Drew Misham kept themselves locked up in their studio and hidden from the outside world, but it must've been for a good reason. Someone has probably wanted Drew dead for a long time... say, 7 years maybe? I can see how this Wright/Gramarye story might be a major factor in the current case.
That whole thing about this being a "test" trial confused me at first. They made it sound like it would just be a short trial leading into the main case, but it turns out this most likely is the main case.
So now I'm just finding out about the paintings and the poison on the coffee mug (that reminds me a lot of PW3...)
What the fuck, after fucking looking everywhere to find the next thing to move the story along I finally found a new piece of evidence hidden in Drew's desk drawer. It was like so out in the open how did I miss that?
That x-ray thing feels more like your just flattening crumpled paper to see what it reads, but whatever. Now, did this happen to anyone else, this is like really weird or a hidden game secret or something... when I went to x-ray the lottery ticket... I was getting used to how it worked right and then I tried to get the ticket all rubbed off, but it wouldn't let me finish even after I rubbed all of it and I could read the text clearly; it said "Winner! Cash Prize!" or something like that. I couldn't progress with the game, like it was frozen or something except I could still move teh x-ray controls. so I shut it off and started again from the last point I saved. This time, I rubbed out the lottery ticket and it said "Sorry Try Again", and this time it worked and I could go on with the story. Trucy said something about how she wanted a winning ticket... that was supposed to happen? It's like a random chance that you'll get the winning ticket and will be stuck in the minigame.
That was fucked up... anyway next there was something about Drew's case being related to the Gramarye's and 7 years ago, that was pretty accurate to what I guessed.
When Apollo revealed the sketches under the paintings and I brilliantly deduced that the sketches were completely different from the paintings... then he pointed out that the sketches are all of the previous 3 cases, that one completely caught me off guard, it didn't even click in my head until they brought it up.
...and now I'm at the start of the trial. I think it's safe to say I have no idea what's going on at this point.
I played through this part while high... it's surprisingly really funny when you read the dialogue out loud in the cartoony-like voices that you'd think they would have... also this plot is such a clusterfuck.
