High playthrough log
Level 1: Grass Land
There's too much choice... 1-1 already lets you pick up any of the animal friends besides Coo and Kine, and each animal has a different moveset with the copy abilities. Right now I'm just playing it by trying out as many different ability/animal combinations as possible, but I think it's probably more fun if you just don't care about that and go with whatever you feel like at the time.
Chuchu seems like the hardest one to use. Your suction ability is replaced by Chuchu's grab when you don't have anything else... and her "flying" is basically like Nago's triple jump except with less height, and like normal kirby, you can't fly at all when Kirby has something in his mouth. I haven't even found the collectible in these first 2 stages... there must be some weird specific objective that I haven't learned about yet. I am noticing a theme of each stage that appears somewhere in the stage's backgrounds, like the fire flower in stage 1 and the green springy guy in stage 2.
Oh, and there's Koo and Kine in 1-3... cool I guess I'll never need to worry about not knowing where to find these guys. This is the first stage that requires beating a gordo guessing minigame to get the heart star.
Hmm... I think I'm starting to get this heart mission structure... whenever I get to a room that has an objective to complete, there's a weird sound that plays when I enter it... that makes it a lot more obvious.
This stage makes some use of Kine to get the heart star.
Got the heart star on this stage too... I'm really liking how these stages are making use of Kirby's partners.
wait... apparently it already lets me do the boss and move onto world 2 when I'm only at 4/6 hearts... oh I see, The hearts are only required to unlock the true final boss.
Before doing the 1st boss, I went back to stage 1 again, and figured out that the objective here is to not let any flowers get trampled. I could probably try and find the other 2 that I missed, but for now I may as well move on and just focus on experiencing every level during this high session.
